Paris 2007

Search Engine Strategies Expo was over in the Docklands . We celebrated a fantastic Valentines Day/evening and then headed back to the Crowne Plaza.

Around 3 am Greg told me that they wanted to go to Paris.

We were all drinking and I just thought it was a fantastic idea. Somewhere around 3:30-4 am Greg announces that we should just stay up and head to the train station by 6 am. I don’t know how any of them were standing as they were up the whole night before. I was a wienie and ran to bed.

Sure enough within a couple hours they were pounding at my door. I have no clue the time but maybe 6-6:30. It was pitch black outside. They were already bright and cheery. They had cabbies and ate breakfast!

The train station. Barbara, Rebecca, Scott, Dax and Greg are in the middle.

As we departed most of us were asleep before the train even took off. Well with exceptions of when Scott was nudging me (private).

Notice that our group is the only ones asleep. I also lost my spot because I didn’t want to *wake anyone*, when came back from my breakfast!

Dax sleeping happily!

We eventually made it to Paris. Barbara and I find out that the public bathrooms charge .60 euros and the bathroom attendant is a guy!

All completely wide awake: Greg, Barbara, Scott, Rebecca, and Dax (Official Tour Guide).

Side notes: That is not Barbara’s suitcase! She brought it to show, Americans do have style and sophiscation.

Yes, Dax has something hanging out of his nose. Scott (the most easy-going person). He carried that bag the whole time and Rebecca (the reporter) had a note pad and camera…
Notre Dame - This was magnificent! Where Gothic Dreams were created. The architecture captures the eyes and imaginations. It is over 700 years old!

Once inside, pass all the guardians of cathedral, you find a very spiritual building. I was moved and Barbara and I bought a candle for my mom.

After a quick brisk walk we headed back to the subway and unto a two story subway.

Side note: a group of elementary school kids with a few adults got on. As we all depart, one of the kids stay on. The doors closed and the kid waved good-bye happily…. It was sad but hilarious.

Rand - Rebecca was only smiling for a brief moment… most of the time she was feeling terribly guilty (*God please forgive me for lying on the internet*)

Dax with Eiffel Parisian Military (oxymoron? - No, the French have a legitimate military. I am shocked too! )

Europe 2007 213

Here is the Eiffel Tower. Wow!

Europe 2007 215

Okay imagine that it was just Greg and Barbara…. Barbara goes back to LA. She listens to her girlfriends tell stories. Some say their guys brought flowers or gifts… When it is her turn she say, for Valentines 2007 . Her and Greg had a Valentines week, they didn’t have time to sleep, Greg took her to London and then off to Paris, so sweet!

I thought you should know how this pictures were taken:

This is probably the highlight to my whole trip. We are walking through a mall … towards the Louvre! Notice the bottom of the pyramid in the far back!

This is under the Pyramid at the Louvre:

Dax (a.k.a. Robert Landon sporting his tan explorer coat) has been here many times before. It is an amazing labyrith of immense complex of buildings connected by hallways, rooms, statues, modern art and yottabytes of info ever step! The place is the largest building I have been in. Dax was able to bee-line right to the Denon Hall. The Mona Lisa was their where but the Last Supper is in Italy (sniff).

The Louvre sign says “La Joconde (Monna Lisa) —>” but to me it meant let’s talk “DaVinci Code”

Well no photos were allowed.

I can that Rebecca found this object interesting:

Now we made it out!

Rebecca looks so sweet sleeping!
